Although the terms home care agencies and home health agencies are often used inter-changeably, there is a difference in services provided. Some agencies can provide both home health and home care. Home care is private pay which means out-of-pocket costs. Some long term care insurance policies may cover home care…check your policy or call the insurance company for covered services. Ask the agency about their hourly rate and minimum hour requirements. Home care agencies are required to be licensed by the state.
